Meet the Staff

Valerie Stapel, PT, has been with Advantage Physical Therapy since 2004. She brings 23 years of experience in treating orthopedic conditions. She specializes in gentle, indirect manual techniques to achieve maximum function, relieve pain and promote independent management of physical dysfunction. Her specialty, women’s health, assists women with pelvic floor pain and dysfunction, incontinence, as well as chronic pain conditions. She also treats general orthopedics, with emphasis in treatment of neck, pelvic and back pain. Valerie is a 1986 graduate of the University of Maryland School Of Medicine with a degree in Physical Therapy. She has specialized training in manual therapy through Michigan State College of Osteopathic Medicine, Connecticut School of Integrated Manual Therapy, as well as many techniques including Kineseotaping, muscle energy techniques, strain counter strain, myofascial release, and many others. She resides in Harrisonburg with her husband and 4 children. In her time away from work she enjoys time with her family, home bible study and playing her flute at church.
